Midwestern Beer News - Surly and New Glarus

New Glarus Brewing, the quiet and elusive darling of Wisconsin beer (not to be found outside of the state unless smuggled out by ninjas), releases their first seasonal, Cabin Fever Honey Bock, a Pale Bock brewed with Wisconsin Honey. Bocks are "liquid bread:" think all kinds of complex malt flavors and a sweet finish.

Surly Brewing Company of Minnesota celebrates their fourth year brewing with Four, an Iced Double Espresso Milk Stout. So far, one release party in Minnesota (at The Blue Nile) has been announced; perhaps more will follow (OMG Beer! prays to Ninkasi, sumerian goddess of beer and fermentation for a Chicago release party).
