Seasonal Releases: Bell's Hopslam and Troegs Nugget Nectar

Two beers for the Hopheads of America.

Bell's Hopslam, who's label is updated to say "brewed with honey," is a bitter Imperial India Pale Ale, and at 10% ABV according to the website, quite a sipper. The honey may round out the bitterness with some sweetness in the aftertaste. Look for this wherever you go to get your Bell's fix.

Troegs Brewing Co's Nugget Nectar, built on their Amber Ale recipe, but with a lot more hops and some more malt backbone, got released on the same day as the Bell's Hopslam. 7.5 ABV, and 93 IBUs, so it's sure to still leave a bitter, resiny hop taste in your mouth, though the vienna and munich malt in the grain bill means a nice toasted grainy flavor should hide subtlely behind the hops.
