Who: Surly, Three Floyds, Mikkeller, Piece, Firestone Walker and more.
What: Rare beers, rare bottles, raffle prizes, merch!

Why: Because animals are awesome, these breweries are awesome, and Northdown is awesome. So awesome!

"The event starts at 11am on June 19th. We'll be tapping rare beers from 3 Floyds, Surly & Mikkeller every two hours throughout the day, as well as beers generously donated by Piece Brewing & Firestone Walker Brewery. We'll also have amazing raffle drawings all day, with items donated from some of the best artists & shops in the city!

All raffle tickets, t-shirts & poster sales are cash only. Limited shirts & artwork will be available commemorating this incredible event.
General Raffle Item tickets - for sale on the day of the event. Tickets are 3 for $10 or 7 for $20.

Bangers & Lace presents the Mikkeller Single Hop Series

Mikkeller of Denmark took the idea of beer education to a new level last year, when they started releasing single hop IPAs, where the same hop variety was used throughout the brewing process, emphasizing it's own characteristics instead of merging them with other IPA-friendly hops. Mikkeller's released 23 single hop series beers, started a Yeast Series as well, and there seems to be no slowing down (there's quite a lot of IPA hop options).

Bangers & Lace managed to find kegs of at least 14 of the single hop series beers, and will be making them part of their draft six-pack. Try them all! Here's the first group, and I'll post hop descriptions throughout the week. The first six:

Mt. Hood, Amarillo, Sorachi Ace, Magnum, Bravo & Columbus.

Three Floyds Brewing Company and Mikkeller (of Denmark) - Third Collaboration

First, there was Hvedegoop, a hoppy wheatwine. Then came Oatgoop, a wheatwine brewed with oats. Now, the third frankenbeer Ruggoop, brewed when Mikkel of Mikkeller came to Chicago for the Craft Brewers Conference in April. Details are sparse, but this is a rye wine at about 10% ABV.
