Try Great Lakes Brewing Company's Grand Cru (belgian strong pale ale) at Monk's Pub at 5:00pm, July 11th. Next Wednesday. This was/is normally a pub-exclusive! Let's not even begin to guess how or what the folks at Monk's Pub had to do to get this beer out to Chicago for us to taste. Like many Grand Cru's, this is a strong belgian pale ale brewed with the spice profile of a wit.
Rumor has it Rye of the Tiger will also be tapped, another (and current) pub exclusive IPA brewed with rye malt.
Additionally, every week in July there will be a Great lakes beer on tap for $4.

Solidarity! Celebrating Craft Beer in Chicago. Tomorrow, March 31st, 1pm.
Stone Brewing Company, one of the nation's largest, most popular, and arguably tastiest craft breweries made their entry into the Chicago market, officially, two years ago this weekend! Joyous quafting of their delicious beers happened everywhere. A bacchanalia of Stone beer hit the city between the eyes and in the liver. Celebrating that two year anniversary, Stone invited some other heavyweights, a couple local, to join them in pouring beers this weekend.

Great Lakes Brewing News
Great Lakes Brewing Company of Cleveland's Nosferatu Ale comes out soon. A deliciously hoppy imperial red ale, though the 8%ABV is well hidden by the balance between malt and hops. 4 packs and on draft through October.

Then, Great Lakes fans, be on the lookout for the Great Lakes Christmas Ale, one of their best selling beers, brewing with cinnamon and ginger.
