Two Beer Festivals

Beer Hoptacular - http://beerhoptacular.com/

This is tomorrow, two sessions. The evening session, from 6-930, is sold out. The afternoon session from 1-430, which will be attended by yours truly, is still on sale. 35 dollars plus some invasive fees gets you a tasting glass and all the samples you can get in your mouth in 3.5 hours. You also get to vote on the Beer Hoptacular of the Year. Last year's winners: 3rd place, Bourbon County Stout from Goose Island, 2nd place, Dragon's Milk from New Holland, and 1st place, Dirty Summer Blonde Chocolate Ale, from America's Brewing Company.

Festival of Wood and Barrel Aged Beers

I'll sell you my first-born if you have an extra ticket to what is far and away the best and most interesting festival in Chicagoland. Every submission is aged in some way, be it on wood, in wood, with wood chips/cubes, or in other interesting ways. Many are standard offerings from breweries you know and love, given severely creative twists via aging processes (sometimes with fruit and spices added to the aging process).

Both sessions are sold out, but the where there's a will, there's a way people.
