De Dolle Dulle Teve ("Mad Bitch")

Name: De Dolle Dulle Teve ("Mad Bitch")
Brewery: Brouwerij De Dolle Brouwers
Style: Tripel
Brewed In: Esen, Belgium
Origin: Belgian
ABV: 10.0%
Serving Glass: Goblet
OMG Beer Rating: 8.5

Appearance: creamy off-white head, quite fluffy, on top of a golden-orange body; the lacing is fantastic and complex, and just makes the beer look pretty as it disappears from your glass.

Aroma: hint of apple, maybe pear, sweet candy and flowers, and a fresh grassiness

Taste: grapefruit along with the apples, cotton candy, then a mix of tropical fruit mix and some spices, almost like a spicy fruit cake. As the spice flavors hit your tongue, so does a little hop bitterness that lingers as the slightly sweet beer ends dry. The booziness plays well with the tropical fruit flavors, and the beer doesn't come off as overly strong.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied, but perfectly carbonated. The carbonation keeps it quite smooth, yet also champagne-like, and thus, as it fades on the tongue, keeps it from feeling too sweet and sticky.
