Beer and Food Pairing Potluck

Two great friends, Louisa and Daniel, hosted this tasting. All food prepared by guests who notified of their choices, in most cases, by Friday or Saturday morning. The indian spinach dip is my own though.

Pre tasting drinks - Black Geese IPA, Tyranena Bitter Woman IPA

olives, baguettes, smoked butter w/Poperings Hommel Bier

indian spinach dip w/ Stone 14th Anniversary Emperial IPA/Stone Cali-Belgique

Kate's Salad (israeli couscous, sweet potato, black beans, corn, cilantro-honey-harissa dressing) w/ Biere de Miel

Mac n Cheese, Corn bread w/New Glarus Fat Squirrel Nut Brown

intended to also let people pair the Black Geese IPA with the Mac n Cheese, but the Mac was so good, couldn't even get the bottle around after pouring the Fat Squirrel. So we just drank it as a break before the heavier foods.

Weisswurst (veal sausage), chicken-apple sausage w/Fox Deluxe Discombobulator Doppelbock
Tsimmis (not sure how this is spelled) - eastern european casserole of apples, carrots, potatoes, onions, topped with cheese) Allagash Dubbel

Curried Chicken Salad, Rogan Josh (but Lamb Sausage) w/Old Speckled Hen English Bitter

Desserts: flan with cinnamon, pumpkin-chocolate chip-almond muffins, basil infused peach mousse w/The Bruery Autumn Maple Belgian Brown and Southern Tier Choklat

unpaired: compressed watermelon with mint, blueberries, blueberry vinegar

the watermelon and the peach mousse were made by a guy who works for a molecular gastronomy gadgetry company. He smoked the butter himself with one of their devices that does cold smoking.

I'll get recipes for most of the dishes should anyone want them.
