Chicago Beer News - Happy New Beer from Flossmoor Station; and Half Acre's first of the year

Flossmoor Station offers up for 2010 their "12", described on the Flossmoor Beer Blog as "a 16 month aged Belgian-style Golden Strong Ale." I'm a bit confused by Head Brewer Bryan Shimkos numbering of the beer, but...he's really good at brewing beer, so I'm sure there's some reason for the 12/16 discrepancy.

Meanwhile, within the city limits, Half Acre Brewing twitted that their first of the year, The Empty Sea, will be available at the brewery for growler pours this weekend. The brief description says "orange chicory rye" which leads one to speculate that Dr. Frankenstein's been hired by Half Acre, or has possessed someone at the brewery.
